NeuroTrac® Continence can be used for a range of pelvic health conditions:

  • To strengthen pelvic floor muscles - use the  'stress' programs : PO3, PO4, or 'building up endurance' PO9
  • For bladder or bowel urgency - use the  'urge' or 'frequency/freq'  programs : PO2, PO5, or PO6
  • For pelvic pain - use the 'pelvic floor pain' program : PO1

Not everyone will respond to the pre-set programs. Often setting an individualised custom program will give better results. See a pelvic floor physiotherapist for advice. These can be set in PC1, 2, 3 or 4.
PC4 allows you to set continuous parameters which means you can use it as a TENS machine

Which electrode do I need?

  • Females can use with vaginal, anal or external electrodes (to be purchased separately)
  • Males can use with either anal or external electrodes (to be purchased separately)
  • Please note the unit is not supplied with an electrode  in order to allow you to choose the most suitable one from our electrode range

What is the difference between Continence and other machines?

The Continence is the all-rounder. Easy to follow pre-set programmes with the option of 4 custom programs, one of which is specifically for TENS - a feature none of the other machines have.

Please note there are safety features built in to protect you from sudden changes in intensity and if the circuit loses contact. Troubleshooting questions are answered here

Two common things that can happen:

  1. Machine won't go past 5-6mA. This means the circuit is not complete and can be due to either a broken lead or electrode, or contact with the tissues. How to check and fix all of these is explained in the manual but also in this download and video
  2. You have had the mA at a certain level but machine won't let you increase this. After 60 seconds, if the intensity (mA) hasn't been increased the machine locks the mA to prevent unexpected increases. If you wish to increase from there you first need to press the minus button (-) to unlock, then press the plus button (+) to increase to the desired level.

STIMULATION

  • Dual channel: individually isolated circuits.
  • Amplitude: 0 - 90 mA into 500 Ohm load; indication only. Actual mA will tend to be less than indicated due to electrode impedance: at 1000 Ohms load (Electrodes in poor condition) the maximum will be limited to 70 mA, at 1500 Ohms load the maximum will be limited to 65 mA.
  • Type: Constant Current, maximum output voltage 180 Volts +10 / -30 Volts
  • Waveform: Asymmetrical, rectangular bi-phasic with zero DC current.
  • Selectable pulse width: 50 μS - 450 μS [2% accuracy].
  • Pulse Rate selection: in the continuous mode 2 Hz - 100 Hz [2% accuracy].
  • Time duration of the treatment selectable: 1 minute to 90 minutes.
  • Low Battery Indicator: If the battery goes below 6.9 volts +/- 0.2 volts the battery symbol will flash on/off once every second.
