Many women experience vaginal dryness at various stages of life. The most common being through perimenopause into menopause. The main reason is the drop in oestrogen levels - the hormone that helps maintain vaginal lubrication, amongst many other jobs.
Dryness of the vagina can result in painful sex and micro -tears of the vaginal tissues. Some women progress to what is called vaginal atrophy (atrophic vaginitis) which is thinning, drying and inflammation of the vaginal walls .
Having suffered from this, Jane Lewis decided to share her experiences with other women and the result was Me & My Menopausal Vagina
