Description
The Kegelmaster is manufactured in the US from medical grade plastic. Its design incorporates positions for four springs, which are all supplied with the Kegelmaster.
 |
|
Utilising the four "posts" onto which the four springs can be mounted in any combination, it is possible to achieve 15 different levels of progressive resistance with the Kegelmaster.
The knob on the side is used to tighten the two arms of the Kegelmaster together while it is inserted into the vagina. Once the device is in place, the knob is undone to allow the two hinged parts to spring apart.
The two sprung hinged sections of the Kegelmaster then provide sprung resistance against which you can contract your pelvic floor muscles, bringing the two hinged arms together.
The extent to which the two hinged sides of the KegelMaster will separate will depend on the individual woman's body, but if the arms don't separate enough to provide space for exercise movement, another spring can be added until a sufficient "gape" is achieved. |
The Kegelmaster's manufacturer states that the four springs can be used in any of the following Power Spring Combinations (see post numbers in the image above) :
1,2,3,4, 1*2, 1*3, 1*4, 2*4, 3*4, 1*2*3, 1*2*4, 1*3*4, 2*3*4, 1*2*3*4
A full instructional manufacturer's DVD is provided with every Kegelmaster. See our comments on the Kegelmaster's manufacturer's recommended exercise regime in the Specifications section.
Although we have seen some claims that the Kegelmaster is suitable for women with a prolapse, we suggest that women with this problem should consider whether the design and the closing action is appropriate for them. Your decision will depend on the nature and degree of your prolapse, and alternative exercise aids may be more appropriate. Your health practitioner should be able to advise you if you are unsure.

The Kegelmaster is not manufactured under sterile conditions and we therefore suggest cleaning before initial use. As with all other devices used within the vagina, the Kegelmaster is not recommended for use during pregnancy.
